Ten questions
Love Calculator Quiz
The love quiz
Ten questions, about 60 seconds
Ten questions about how the two of you actually behave — not your names, not your birthdays. Answer honestly and the quiz returns a percentage you can trace back to your own answers, because the whole scoring table is published below.
How we score your answers
Every question is worth 0 to 3 points, and the ten scores are simply added up. A raw total of 0 to 30 is stretched onto a 6% to 99% scale so the number matches the rest of the site. There is no weighting, no hidden factor and no randomness.
The formula is published in full: score = round(6 + (raw ÷ 30) × 93). Each raw point is worth about 3.1 percentage points.
| Raw | % | Raw | % | Raw | % | Raw | % |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 6 | 8 | 31 | 16 | 56 | 24 | 80 |
| 1 | 9 | 9 | 34 | 17 | 59 | 25 | 84 |
| 2 | 12 | 10 | 37 | 18 | 62 | 26 | 87 |
| 3 | 15 | 11 | 40 | 19 | 65 | 27 | 90 |
| 4 | 18 | 12 | 43 | 20 | 68 | 28 | 93 |
| 5 | 22 | 13 | 46 | 21 | 71 | 29 | 96 |
| 6 | 25 | 14 | 49 | 22 | 74 | 30 | 99 |
| 7 | 28 | 15 | 52 | 23 | 77 | — | — |
Answer every question at the top option and you score 99%. Answer every question one step down and you score 68%. That gap is deliberate — a top band should mean you actually answered at the top, not that you got lucky.
There are 1,048,576 possible answer combinations and only 31 possible scores, so many different sets of answers produce the same percentage. The two boxes shown under your result tell you which questions carried you and which pulled you down.
A love calculator with questions instead of names
This is a love calculator by questions: it never asks for a name, and the score is built entirely from what you answer. Every other tool on the site reads letters or dates you were born with.
That is the whole reason a love calculator test with questions is worth more than a name-based one. A percentage from spelling tells you about spelling. A percentage from ten answers tells you what you just said about your relationship, organised.
| This quiz | A name calculator | |
|---|---|---|
| Input | Ten answers you choose | Two names |
| What moves the score | How you answer | How you spell |
| Can it be gamed | Yes, by answering dishonestly | No, but it means nothing either way |
| Needs an existing relationship | Yes | No |
A love calculator by asking questions has one failure mode a name calculator does not: you can flatter it. Answering as things are rather than as you would like them to be is the only thing that makes the result worth reading.
What each result band means
Eight bands cover the 6% to 99% range, and the raw totals that reach each one are fixed. The right-hand column shows how likely each band is if the answers were chosen at random, which is a useful reminder of how much of the score is yours rather than ours.
| Band | Score | Raw total | If answered at random |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twin Flames | 95–99% | 29–30 | 0.003% |
| Written in the Stars | 88–94% | 27–28 | 0.03% |
| Deeply Devoted | 78–87% | 24–26 | 0.67% |
| A Beautiful Match | 68–77% | 20–23 | 9.6% |
| Quietly Promising | 56–67% | 16–19 | 34.2% |
| The Slow Burn | 42–55% | 12–15 | 39.2% |
| Opposites Attract | 26–41% | 7–11 | 15.6% |
| A Rare Curiosity | 6–25% | 0–6 | 0.7% |
A low band is not a verdict. Nine of the ten questions ask about things that change — how often you talk, how you repair after an argument, whether you have discussed the next few years. The one exception is trust, and even that moves.
A high band is not a guarantee either. You answered the questions about your own relationship, so a high score mostly means you feel good about it right now. That is worth something and it is not a prediction.
The ten questions and why each one is there
Each question is modelled on something relationship researchers actually measure, rather than picked to sound romantic. The quiz is a self-report questionnaire for fun, not a validated psychological instrument, but the choice of questions is not arbitrary.
| Question | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Everyday contact | Frequency of ordinary connection, the small daily bids rather than grand gestures |
| Handling conflict | Repair after conflict — how a couple recovers, which predicts more than how often they argue |
| Shared future | Whether the two of you hold the same picture of the next few years |
| Fitting into life | Integration into each other's wider social world |
| Trust | Attachment security — what you assume when you have no information |
| Balance of effort | Whether the work of maintaining the relationship is shared |
| Enjoying each other | Shared humour, one of the most consistently reported features of long partnerships |
| Space apart | Comfort with autonomy, which sits opposite anxious attachment |
| Support in bad news | Who you turn to first, a direct measure of whether they are your secure base |
| Honesty | Self-disclosure, including the parts that are uncomfortable to say |
Answer as things are, not as you would like them to be. A quiz you have flattered tells you nothing you did not already decide before you started.
Quiz vs name calculator
A love quiz measures your answers; a name calculator measures your spelling. Both produce a percentage, and only one of them contains any information about your relationship.
| Love quiz | Love calculator by name | |
|---|---|---|
| Input | Ten answers about your relationship | Two names |
| What changes the score | How you answer | How you spell |
| Possible results | 31 scores | 86 measured scores |
| Repeatable | Yes, if you answer the same way | Yes, always |
| Tells you something real | Something, because you supplied it | No |
| Fun with a crush you have not spoken to | No — you cannot answer the questions | Yes |
Use the quiz when there is a real relationship to describe. Use the love calculator by name when there is not — for a crush, a celebrity pairing or a joke between friends. If you are curious about someone you have not spoken to yet, the crush calculator is the one built for that.
The honest gap between them is worth naming. A name calculator returns a confident-looking percentage built from letters, which is why every page on this site says so plainly. The quiz gives back a summary of what you just told it, which is a smaller claim and a truer one.
Are love calculators accurate compares what a name-based score can see against what ten answers can.
Frequently asked questions
How does the love calculator quiz work?
Ten questions each score 0 to 3 points. The ten scores are added to a raw total out of 30, then converted with score = round(6 + (raw ÷ 30) × 93) to give a percentage between 6% and 99%.
How many questions are in the love quiz?
Ten. Each has four options, they appear one at a time, and the whole quiz takes about 60 seconds.
Is a love calculator quiz accurate?
It is more informative than a name-based love calculator, because the score comes from your own answers rather than from spelling. It is still a self-report quiz for entertainment and not a validated psychological test.
Is the love quiz free?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and nothing is stored. Your answers are scored in your browser and never sent to a server.
Can you get 100% on this love quiz?
No. The scale tops out at 99%, which needs a raw total of 29 or 30 out of 30. The site does not award 100% on any calculator, because a number that certain would be a lie.
Can I take the quiz again?
Yes, as many times as you like. Answering the same way always returns the same percentage, because the scoring contains no random element.
Should my partner take the quiz too?
Yes, separately, and it is the most useful way to use it. Comparing where two people answered differently on the same ten questions is more revealing than either percentage on its own.
What does a low quiz score mean?
It means you answered several questions near the bottom option. Nine of the ten questions ask about behaviour that can change, so the score describes the present rather than settling the future.
Is a quiz better than a love calculator by name?
For a relationship that already exists, yes. For a crush you have not spoken to, no — you cannot answer questions about a relationship that has not started, so the name calculator or crush calculator fits better.
